Some good news following the last SENRUG meeting was their approval of the Joint Vision document that we have drafted with them. This document sets out the Vision of the Butterwell Branch as a potential through route, but with ABTRA aiming to support the route in the intervening time by operating ‘heritage’ type trains on the infrastructure and hopefully re-opening the stretch south of the A1068 and north of Ashington in the interim time.

ABTRA & SENRUG Joint Vision 2017 and for links to the blog post containing the links to other documents mentioned within the Joint Vision, please see our Plans for the Butterwell Branch (28th Jan 2017) blog post.
Also, please take a look at the SENRUG website for the latest details on the Ashington, Blyth and Tyne Campaign.
Thanks, RH.
[…] We hope to meet soon with Northumberland County Council (NCC) to discuss our aims and see what might be feasible with them, and we will continue to collaborate with SENRUG on our plans through our Joint Vision. […]
