ABTRA Open Meeting & Committee Meeting 24.2.18

Saturday the 24th of February saw us host a successful open meeting once again with other stakeholders in our projects, most notably our Butterwell Branch project.

All agreed with what our intentions for the route are, and while we cannot divulge further until we speak to other organisations involved things are initially looking very promising indeed!

In other news, we are currently going to place our ‘Woodhorn Link’ idea on a back burner until more progress is made with our core Butterwell Branch project. The Woodhorn Link for those new to the project was an intended scheme to link the Woodhorn Narrow Gauge Railway from Lakeside/Woodhorn Grange to our intended station site at New Moor (near the A1068 road crossing). This would have involved the construction of around 1.5 miles of new narrow gauge railway.

In other news, our Committee has approved a new membership structure with a new rate which should hopefully be much simplified.

Thanks for reading and more updates coming soon! RH.
